Barbara Heald, DVM

Born and raised in Vermont, Dr. Barbara Heald completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Vermont. She then attended the University of Tennessee, College of Veterinary Medicine in Knoxville, Tennessee. After "vet school", Dr. Heald began her formal experience as a veterinarian during a 14-month internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, Massachussetts. Dr. Heald has enjoyed the joys and challenges offered by small animal practice since she arrived at DWAH in 1989. She became a business partner in 1997. When not at the hospital, Barb enjoys doing "anything outside with her husband, son and furry family, including Buck, an adopted German Shepherd, and Brownie, a "purebred" FLD (Funny Little Dog). Potter and Maj, their two cats, are always waiting for them at home.
